Gen 2: Aubrey's Sleepover with Katrina?

Since Aubrey had a sleepover with J Huntington III Dina thought it is time for Aubrey to spend some time at their mother's house, Katrina Caliente. Aubrey has never had the best relationship with Katrina however she is still her mother, and she didn't always have a good relationship with J Huntington either.

A Little Refresher

Aubrey is a product of a one night stand between Katrina Caliente and J Huntington III. She was an unplanned pregnancy and to be honest no one really thought that Katrina could even get pregnant anymore. She has two adult daughters, Nina and Dina, and she's on the older side of adulthood. As soon as Katrina got pregnant Dina moved in with Mickey. At the time the couple thought it would be best to give up Dina's room so the new baby could have her own bedroom.

After Aubrey was born Nina invited Dina over to meet their new sister. As soon as she arrived we noticed that Katrina was nowhere to be seen! Dina walked all over the house and couldn't find Aubrey anywhere! She eventually asked Nina where the baby was. Nina was taking care of Aubrey, however, Nina doesn't like kids and never wanted to be in the situation of taking care of a baby. Nina ended up walking Dina out the back door of the house and into the side building that was connected to the house but couldn't be entered without walking outside and back into the room. It became abundantly clear to Dina that no one was really taking care of baby Aubrey!

Dina Taking Care of Aubrey

After Dina spent the whole entire day with Aubrey she started thinking about what she needed to do. She couldn't just leave Aubrey in a home where she would inevitably be taken away due to being neglected. It wasn't until the middle of the night that Katrina even came home! As soon as she got home Dina confronted her and then Katrina threw her out of the house! When Dina got home she went running to Mickey asking what she should do. Dina knew she either had to move back home to take care of her baby sister or maybe move Aubrey in and raise her herself. But as soon as she was done telling Mickey everything that happened while she was at Katrina's house Mickey cut in and said, "D, I think the only solution is for us to step in and raise her. I know we just moved in and we are skipping so many steps here but I don't think there are any other options if neither Katrina or Nina wants to take care of her, and I don't want to see her be taken away by the state." Mickey's response was the moment that Dina knew he was the one for her!

Dina explaining Aubrey's situation to Mickey

Later that week Dina had a serious conversation with both Katrina and Dina about Aubrey. She mentioned how no one was really taking care of her that whole entire day she was over. Dina kept explaining that she wasn't there to judge how they were raising Aubrey, she just wanted to help raise her. The three of them came to the conclusion that neither Katrina nor Nina was capable of raising a baby at the moment, and that Dina could help them raise her. So that day Dina brought her baby sister, Aubrey, home with her. During all of this, I don't know if J Huntington III even knew that Katrina was pregnant. So I don't know if he can be blamed for not being there for Aubrey at the very beginning of Aubrey's life. But I know that raising Aubrey was one of the best things that ever happened to Mickey and Dina.

Mickey Feeding Aubrey

This was always supposed to be temporary for Dina, Mickey, and Aubrey. But while Aubrey grew up in the Disney household there was less and less contact with Nina, Katrina, and J. Nina called and came to visit every now and again, but it wasn't until she was a toddler that Katrina and J started calling. Katrina really started being involved while Aubrey was a toddler. I think her being invited to Mickey and Dina's wedding really helped bridge the gap and create a strong relationship between her and Aubrey.

Nina Visiting Aubrey

Mickey, Nina, Aubrey, and Katrina at Mickey and Dina's Wedding

But as Aubrey aged into a child her relationships with her parents changed. She had siblings in the Disney household that she was being raised with, she's become partners in crime with Maleficent. On her birthday J started reaching out wanting to get to know his daughter. Dina told him if he wanted to know Aubrey than they needed to have a meeting without Aubrey. J's a stranger to Dina and Dina is very protective over her kids. She just wanted to meet with him to see what his intentions were because she would love nothing more than for Aubrey to get to know her dad. While they were having a meeting Dina learned that J has married Sage and that they had a little girl together! Dina was surprised but loved the fact that he was settled down, and she and Sage have quickly become friends.

Over the past few years of  Aubrey's life, she has become really close to J, Sage, and Kassandra. She and Kassandra even created the Kidz Klub together while she was staying a week with J. I think the fact that J is in the family mode with Sage and Kassandra it helps make Aubrey want to get to know him and a whole other side of her family that she never knew up until this point.

Aubrey and Kassandra

However, with the ups comes to the downs. As Aubrey was getting closer to J she was losing a relationship with Katrina. Both Katrina and Nina have residence keys to the Disney households, and usually, that encourages Sims just to pop in all of the time. One great example was Supriya Delegato, she and Mickey have been best friends since he moved into Brindleton Bay and she's had a residence key just as long, and she shows up all the time! I think while Aubrey was a toddler Katrina and Nina really did show up all the time, but as she's gotten older we see less and less of them both.

Another thing that really put a hold on Katrina and Aubrey's relationship was the fact that Katrina got pregnant not long after J and Sage did, and she even got married to Travis Scott! I don't know if she lost the baby or if the baby was taken away due to neglect but none of the Disney households ever met the new baby, and even I can't find it. I got the notification that she was pregnant and then my game glitched so who really knows what happened to the baby. But anyways all of these huge life changes happened for Katrina yet she never told Dina or Aubrey. She really just cut them out of her life. Dina's at the age where she's used to it and it doesn't really phase her anymore, but Aubrey is just a child and was really hurt by this.

Now

Since Aubrey has been getting so close to J and has been getting so hurt by Katrina, Dina is determined to find out what is going on and put an end to it. She's tired of seeing her kid hurt and disappointed. So one day while Aubrey was at school Dina went over to the Caliente residence to meet with Katrina and Nina. The three of them were catching up and having a really good time. They talked about how grown up Aubrey was getting and Dina started talking to Katrina about how she needs to decide whether she wants to be in her life or not and she needed to decide now because she is done hurting her kid. Dina says, "Katrina, you have one last chance to decide how you want your relationship with Aubrey to be. She's a kid and your the adult. You have all say on what your relationship with her is like and you need to figure it out."

Katrina, Nina, and Dina all catching up

Katrina and Dina having it out

From the pictures above you can see that Nina's really grown up since Aubrey moved in with Dina. I think it was a wake-up call for her and she's been putting in the work to be able to take care of Aubrey if Aubrey ever moved back in with Katrina. In the picture of Nina showing Dina Aubrey's bedroom, you can tell that she was getting frustrated because Katrina isn't there with them. They were literally sitting downstairs in their living room and they brought Dina upstairs just to show her Aubrey's room, but Katrina snuck off to play on the computer instead. Then it took me forever to get Katrina to go in there, I had to create a group just to do it. Then while Dina and Katrina were talking on the bed they started arguing. It was finally settled when Dina said, "I will let Aubrey decide if she wants a relationship with you, and if she wants to stay the weekend with you then you will let her and you will build on your relationship with her. If you mess this chance up then I'm done trying."

When Aubrey got home from school that day Dina sat her down and they talked it out. Aubrey decided that she wanted to go stay the weekend with Katrina starting today, which was Thursday. Dina agreed to take her over to Katrina's house after dinner but she had to promise to call her if anything went wrong so she could come to get her.

On Aubrey's first night with Katrina, everything went smoothly for the most part. The only thing that went awry was Katrina and Travis got into a huge fight. Aubrey has never met Travis up until this moment. After their fight Katrina stormed off and Travis stayed to have dinner with Aubrey and Nina.

Travis, Nina, and Aubrey eating dinner

As soon as they were done eating dinner Aubrey went to the table to work on her homework and then headed off to bed since she still had school the next day. After her drama club the next day Aubrey came home and did her homework and then started cleaning the house. She started playing the piano some, and then there was a knock on the door. It turns out it was Maleficent! Maleficent was missing Aubrey and wanted to come to see her, and Aubrey felt the same way and asked her to stay the night!

As soon as Maleficent went home Aubrey went up to her room to play doctor with her bear. She was having fun. Then she hears Katrina calling her from the hallway. When Aubrey went out to see what Katrina wanted, Katrina started yelling at her. Turns out Katrina felt that Aubrey should've asked before inviting Maleficent to stay the night and then the two started to argue. This conversation ended with Aubrey leaving and going back home to the Disney house.

I'm not sure what the future will hold for Aubrey and Katrina. Katrina is a hot-headed sim, which means that she gets angry easily or even picks fights for fun. She also kept having the option to try and steal money from Aubrey, and I'm not sure if it was from a trait or if it was just her personality. But for now, these two have hardly any relationship. I think she will continue to talk to Nina but we will just have to wait and see what happens with Katrina, and if there is any relationship it will be after she is a young adult or something huge happens that pulls these two together.

The Gallery

For anyone that plays Sims, you know that there is a thing called the gallery. It is where we all post content that we made for everyone to be able to download and play. I hardly ever post anything in my gallery because I never make anything. Everything I use is something I download and then customize to meet what I need, and then I either save it to my library or that's as far as the creation lives is that game. I don't like reuploading other people's content even if I completely redesign it because I didn't build it and the same with sims if I change their personality and clothes I still don't upload them back onto the gallery. But since we are starting to get a little following I'm going to try to remember to upload my family, give everyone credit where it's due and so on. I'm trying to make it so everything I use in-game has either came from the game or I've made it myself, such as Mickey I completely designed him myself and Dina she came from the game she's actually one of the Caliente sisters.

So I added the whole family to the gallery right before Mickey and Dina aged up into adults. I wish I would've remembered to upload them back when it was just Mickey and Pluto. Now I did not make Pluto I did find him in the gallery, but I kept my Mickey that I created. Pluto was with a Mickey that the creator made and I listed their account over on my first post ever made on this channel. I'll also upload their house as soon as Maleficent ages up and starts using the new room that we made for her. I kind of wish it had its own entrance and I might look into seeing if I can do that after she starts actually using the room.

Since I'm going to start putting more updates on our Disneys on the gallery I'm going to include my gallery name: ShayKay26. Be sure to have your custom content box checked when searching for anything. I don't know why the two I have up so far are categorized as having CC when I'm pretty sure there isn't any.

J and Sage's House Tour

I don't think the Huntingtons are going to become huge parts of our Disney story but they are a key part of Aubrey's story so I thought it would be fun to take a look at it.

The Huntingtons live in one of the premade houses in the Del Sol Valley. I have added to it and rearranged it to fit the family's needs. So this is what the house looks like from the outside. It is currently decorated for I believe they just had Flower Day, where the bunny comes out to see everyone, basically Easter.

The front of the house really didn't change at all. The inside has changed a lot. I've added a bedroom for the girls to share. I wanted the girls to have their own bathroom so I rearranged the kitchen. I'm not in love with how the kitchen is but it works for them right now at least. As you can see below their bedroom and bathroom are the most colorful places in the whole house. I think it really fits the family to have the house this way.

The Girls' Bedroom

Girls' Bathroom
The Kitchen

Right across from the kitchen is the living room. There were some changes to this compared to the starter home. I added some color to the room and a kids' activity table. You can really see that this house is geared towards their daughters.

The Living Room

I don't think Sage and J's room really changed all that much. I've just added a computer and another TV. This way they can escape to their room while the girls dance to music or watch TV in the living room. Since Sage lives here and I get that she's a little girly I think I need to add some decoration throughout the house, especially their bedroom.

Sage and J's Bedroom

The main bathroom in the whole house really has had no change whatsoever. I would like to swap the bathtub out for a shower, and if we ever stay the night there again we will do that.

The second place that I spent a lot of time working on is the backyard. Both of the girls and Sage spend a lot of time outside. Sage is a gardener for her career so I've made her a garden paradise complete with the scarecrow.

Just like the rest of the house the rest of the backyard is dedicated to the girls. J and Sage wanted them to have all of the fun outside activities for the girls so for Easter the bunny brought them a pirate ship and a swing set!

The new backyard really inspired Aubrey to create the Kidz Klub. It's a club for children to just get together and play. I think this is going to become the biggest hangout for the group to spend time since there really isn't much to do at the Disney household. We haven't gone to Katrina's house yet, but I plan on having Aubrey spending at least a weekend there before she ages up into a teenager. I'm not sure how Aubrey's relationships will evolve with her parents yet. I really wanted to move her in with J during her week there but her storyline hasn't run out yet with the Disneys. We'll just have to wait and see how they end up.

Gen 2: Meeting 1 of the Kidz Klub

Since making the Kidz Klub you all haven't gotten to see much of what's been going on. So far in the game, the Kidz Klub has been meeting at least twice a week every week. They don't have a set club hangout so they bounce around throughout all of the worlds. The first time the kids all got to hang out was right before Aubrey went home from J. Here is what happened.

As soon as Aubrey and Kassandra got home from school one day Aubrey invited the club over to J's house to hang out. As soon as everyone arrived on the lot they started playing and making a mess!

Kidz Klub starting to assemble

One of the biggest things that the club focuses on is skill-building and homework. So as soon as everyone arrived at the house the children all started working on their homework. We had kids at the kitchen table, some were at the desks in the girls' room, and then there were even a couple on the couch in the living room working. Even though some of the kids were actually in the club they invited all of their friends over so there was more than just the club hanging out at the house.

At this time J hadn't built everything in the backyard for the girls yet so they only had their monkey bars and the toys in their room to play with. One of the ways for the children to gain points for their club is to play with playground toys or just toys in general.

Everyone Playing around the Monkey Bars

I kept hoping that Maleficent would hangout with Max Villareal so it could be like the stepping stone to evil for her, and they do have a high relationship level. But she just kept spending most of her time Evie, which was super cute! Eventually, everyone started leaving and left Aubrey playing with Kassandra with the playhouse in their bedroom. These two are quickly becoming best friends, and I think it is making Maleficent a little jealous and feeling left out.

Last Few Weeks

I just wanted to make a post about why I've been MIA, and I technically should've posted it first yesterday instead of my laptop post but as you can see I was so excited to show off my new toy. Anyways I know I've missed a couple of posts for the last couple of weeks and all I can really say is that school has kicked my butt and then last weekend I was sick. The really interesting part is that I was so bummed out because the week before last I was on Sims all weekend, even in our Disney story world. However, I was in a build mode building a layout of a police station that I want to build in real life. A little background information regarding the police station is that I'm currently in an infrastructure class and our assignment was to pretend our city has approved a budget to build a new police station and we had to make the plans, figure out who was going to help partner in the building, and so on. Well, I went way overboard with this paper because I love building stuff! I had schematics that I found of previous police stations that were planned for other states and then I used them to build a layout in Sims 4! I love it and I want to go back into my game and remodel it into something for someone to eventually live in. The only part that I don't love is the roof but that is nothing new, I suck at roofing.

I actually had this post written and mostly done and ready to post explaining all of this but I never actually finished it and posted it. To be honest I was just so nervous and a little ashamed of the creativity that I used in my paper. The day that my paper was due I was so nervous and kept rewriting it and adding to it before my class because I felt like I didn't have enough of the terminology since the paper was supposed to be focused on PPP, Public-Private Partnerships. And I added a Sim build that I spent literally all weekend on to a paper for my master's program for a professor who I've never had before! I was just so nervous about this thing that I couldn't look at sims. The following week I skipped class because I was scared to get my paperback. I was so proud of this work that I did and I didn't want a grade to reflect back to me anything less than 100% because it was so good. Well this week I went to class prepared for the worst since to me it was a masterpiece but who knows what my professor will see in it. Guys! I got 100% on it! I've learned that it is okay to come out of my bubble and try something new, and it will pay off! I loved this paper so much. So this post doesn't have a single thing to do with our Disney story but I want to show off my police station that I built that helped me get 100%.

The Build

I never build anything I usually get stuff off of the Gallery and just edit it how I want it, I love shells because I love decorating them. Don't get me wrong I love building too, I just hate when it comes to roofing. I wish we had an automatic roofing button so, so much. Anyways let me show you a little of what I built because I truly suck at roofing my Sim builds. Even in the picture below I adjusted the roof a little bit more since it was taken but still not the most beautiful roof.

I know the roofing sucks but here's the outside of my police station

This isn't the first thing I've ever built but it is the first time that I ever had the opportunity to build something to use for school. Plus I actually love how it turned out. It's just the roof that I'm not excited about. I did modify it a little bit but roofing just isn't my specialty. I really wish there was an auto roof option in Sims 4, I believe it was Sims 3 that had that option.

Front Door View

The Rear of the Building plus the Sally Port

With this build, I also learned some of the specific terms that were in a build like this, such as sally port. A sally port in my mind is kind of like a garage where you can pull in to a walled-in area where you can safely get detainees out of the vehicle. I put this in the back of the building and walled in one area. For my paper, I even had a place to actually build it and it would've been able to access the building from all sides because there would be a street in front and behind the building. So the build itself is just an idea of how I want the building not really the outside. Ideally, I would've had the building itself go down a level, at least this part of the building where official personal would walk into the building so when coming out of vehicle you just walk straight in not up the steps but I wasn't sure how to do that in the game, I might try remodeling it when I go back into the game so that area of the building is on a flat surface so you can walk straight into the building from the outside. In my head, I was really picturing this room when you walk from the sally port and into the police station to be on the same level and once inside when leaving the processing room you would have to go up some stairs. The processing/detaining room is shown below, it is what you walk straight into. Throughout the build, you will see a lot of blue, yellow, green, and white because these are the main state colors, along with the university's colors within the state. I've tried to keep it as close to resembling the real-life version that I would want to build if it was a real project.

The Processing/Holding Room

Investigating Teams

For the investigators where they are broken down into teams, I went ahead and set them up under colors. So each color rug represents which color team they are, we have the Blue team, Red Team, Green Team, and Orange Team. I thought this would be fun and also add some color to the room. This room is straight across from the processing/holding area. Behind the doors on the left corner are two managers' offices. I tried to give them their own character yet still match one another so they are mirrored images of one another. Then right before you leave the room to go into the hall (not in the picture above) there is a rectangle and area and its set up as an interview room. There are two formal interview areas and one area to watch from. To get to the interview rooms you can walk from the hallway right into them but to get into the middle room you have to step into this room (above) to get into the middle room where you can watch the interview going on. There is another door on the top right corner that you can't really see in the picture above but that door leads you to a meeting area where everyone working on a huge case can meet and go over everything that has been founded.

Investigating Meeting Room

The next room that is right by all of this is the gym/locker room. I wanted them to have everything that needed to exercise and let off steam. So we went all out when adding workout equipment. I had a locker room in the hallway that you can't really see in the picture for both males and females. Then there is another door in the front right behind the camera for this picture is another bathroom.

Gym

Across the hall from the gym was the evidence room. The layout over here was pretty cool because you have the area where you check in evidence, then the lab to test evidence, the main evidence holding area, and then a drug room. I had a lot of fun just throwing everything in the room that looked like evidence and just really fills up the rooms.

I also have pictures of the records area. This area is where a lot of the administrating area goes on such as record keeping, answering phones, and paperwork. There are two offices in this area and then a breakroom area straight across from it with a little kitchen area.

One of my favorite areas in this build was the informal interview areas. Since it was informal I felt like it should be relaxing and something that helped people get comfortable so they will talk more. There were two of them and one had a window. This one ended up being my favorite. I think it was nice to see.

Informal Interview Room

The rest of the pictures are going to be backed out so you will see more rooms and some that I listed out above. There are just so many different things that I have in this build that I could spend all day just talking about everything here. I'll add a little more detail in the captions here and there. You'll also see that it is overall a very colorful building and that is the biggest thing I think stands out but I think a police station should be colorful and vibrant, but I think everything should be that way. The pictures below I'm going to try to go from the front of the building to the back to help see the layout a little bit better.

A New Laptop!

I know I haven't been around very often lately, but I'm about to have a lot of content coming out since Spring Break is next week. Anyways I wanted to do something nice and short. I got a new laptop today, not by choice. I'm not sure what happened to my laptop. I went to get it this morning to pay bills and it turns out that the screen was completely shattered! I don't know what happened to it and I mean I could've dealt with it and kept on working with it. However, my laptop was a glass touchscreen computer. For anyone who has ever had a laptop like this and dropped it then you may know what this can mean. For me anyways my clicker/mouse kept bouncing around the screen. It took me so long just to sign into my laptop since the mouse kept clicking me around the screen and off of the textbox for my password! It was so frustrating. But once I got into the computer it calmed down somewhat. However, it was so frustrating.

I had two things running through my mind while trying to get somethings off my laptop in a worst-case scenario, which was one can I just get the screen fixed and if so how much and what was I going to do for my class this week where it is completely computer-based. Well, my fiance told me just to go to Best Buy and figure out what they can do. So I get ready and run to the store as fast as I can because I still have a class tonight. While I was there both the computer guys and Geek Squad told me that it would be between $300-$600 minimum to fix it because it was a glass screen and it would've taken too much work for it to be any cheaper. If I would've gotten the same laptop that I already had it would've been $700. So I knew I needed to get a new computer but since I'm not the most careful human being I decided that I needed something that wasn't glass, which means probably not touch screen. Which is fine, but I wanted to pay a little more for something that will last a lot longer for me. Well, as soon as I saw this keyboard I knew I had to have it. But the price kept me from saying yes on the spot. I kept looking at it and a Dell which was only $200 difference between them, which is a  whole lot of money! Plus I didn't really have the money or plan to splurge on a new laptop at the time.

Check out my Simstagram: Shaykays_Sims to see what it looks like!
