Gen 2: Toddler Maleficent!

Since aging up into a toddler life at the Disney household has been extremely busy. Instead of just having one daughter they now have two! Miss Aubrey loves her new sister and spends time with her every chance she gets.

Dina and Mickey adore Maleficent! There isn't a single second of the day that Maleficent is ever really alone!

But with all the fun this family has Maleficent is still a toddler. With being a toddler there are times where things don't run so smoothly, such as the time Maleficent pulled out all the paint and through it all over the floor! She found this so funny but Mickey didn't have fun cleaning up the mess.

A big that Mickey and Dina were worried about was either Aubrey feeling left out or not being able to spend the same amount of time with Maleficent as they were able to do with Aubrey. But not long after becoming a toddler Mickey and Dina were able to fall into a sort of schedule where they woke up Aubrey for school, got her ready and out the door. Then they would spend the rest of the school day with Maleficent. As soon as Aubrey gets home from school they help her with her homework while either Dina or Mickey cooks. Some days Dina has to run into work while Mickey is left home alone with the girls. This works out fantastic because Mickey is a freelancer and is able to get work whenever he has free time, which is usually late in the night while his girls are sleeping.

A lot of you may wonder why does Maleficent has such a happy childhood so far since she is based on the evil witch from Sleeping Beauty. Well in my head I have a hard time seeing anyone just start off evil! I think something has to happen to them along the way and since most of the time my sims live these boring traditional lives usually as a freelancer or veterinarian I wanted to spin out some. So I see her as a smart, happy toddler. I want to max out all of her toddler skills and relationships with her family. But as she grows up her interests start changing and moving away from what her family ideas are. I want this disconnect to happen after her sibling is born and they are a toddler. Maybe play with the jealousy a little since she is no longer the youngest child. Maybe she feels neglected since Dina and Mickey are now split in another direction other than just with her and Aubrey. Before we found Aubrey I really hoped that Maleficent was the firstborn. Since we now have an Aubrey my plans have changed quite a bit. My new hope is that Dina is pregnant with twins, preferably twin boys because I feel like twin siblings might make Maleficent feel a little left out since the twins might prefer one another over Maleficent and Aubrey isn't technically her sister she's her aunt. So as an older child, she starts seeing herself differently than the rest of her family and starts hanging out with the 'bad kids.' As a teen, Maleficent will fully resent her family and have poor relationships with all of her family and start leaning down the road she is traditionally seen to be in. As a toddler, I can't do much down the evil side anyways so I think this will really help bridge her into that role later on in life. For more information about my goals for this little cutie please check out an earlier blog post titled, "ShayKay's Disney Legacy Challenge - Generations 2 Goals." In the post, I list out all of the specifics about the second generation and my hopes to come out of this new generation.
